PHAST will be presenting a poster at the annual conference of Public Health England on 16 and 17 September 2014 in Warwick. The poster describes the evaluation of Equity Action, a three year European-wide programme to address health inequalities in 15 Member States with Norway and 30 regions. PHAST’s remit was to identify the impact the project had on the capability of Member States to produce effective policies to tackle health inequalities with an emphasis on ‘equity’. Through three phases of the evaluation, adopting an action-research approach, it became evident that Equity Action had demonstrated that it had not only enhanced the capacity of EU Member States, but also secured the commitment of the EU to invest new resources to support a successor programme across the whole of the EU.
